Shower Power at ‘Dega! New Mobile Showers Debut in Talladega Superspeedway’s Outside Campgrounds

Talladega Superspeedway is known for pure power on the race track. But, now outside of the mammoth 2.66-mile venue, race fans are going to experience a different kind of force that they are sure to enjoy – shower power – when they return for the triple-header weekend, May 5-7, featuring the GEICO 500. Track officials are pleased to announce new camping amenities – Shower Houses – that will debut in two areas to accommodate three outside campgrounds: GEICO West Park A & Pecan Grove, as well as GEICO West Park B.

The mobile showers, which are complimentary for fans in those areas, contain 16 private stalls with endless hot water supply, adjoining dressing rooms, six sinks, mirrors and electrical outlets. The addition of showering facilities on the west side of the property will provide a new sense of ‘home sweet home’ comfort for fans in those camping communities.

“Prior to each race weekend we strive to enhance our fan experience based on their feedback,” said Talladega Superspeedway Chairman Grant Lynch. “Our fans ‘move in’ for race week and create one of the largest cities in Alabama twice a year, so we want to make sure they feel as at home as possible during their stay, and what better feeling of home sweet home than a nice hot shower.”

These three campgrounds are located on the west side of the property outside the frontstretch (behind Fan Zone) and Turn One areas of the venue, making them some of Talladega’s most convenient overnight options for experiencing all Talladega has to offer. Guests in these areas are within walking distances or a quick TallaTaxi ride away from the Fan Zone, which has numerous displays and free activities. In addition, there is the Fanatics Trackside Superstore – the one-stop-shop for all racing memorabilia and merchandise of your favorite driver.

Once inside the grandstands, fans will catch every turn of action in the comfort of 21” and 22” seats, with views of the 2.66-mile race track on one of the five mammoth ISM HD video boards lining the front stretch, ensuring fans don’t miss a minute of the heart-pounding racing at Talladega.
