Not only will Dale Earnhardt Jr. be back on the track at Martinsville Speedway this spring in the Hendrick Motorsports No. 88 Axalta Chevrolet SS, the Mountain Dew driver is also scheduled to take part in the Green Flag Experience presented by Mountain Dew prior to the race.
“Dale is the perfect fit for the Green Flag Experience – obviously the fans love to hear from him and he runs really well here,” Martinsville Speedway President Clay Campbell said. “I think it’s also fitting to have him up there as we celebrate our 70th anniversary, because he has so much appreciation for not only the history of the sport, but Martinsville Speedway’s history as well.”
Earnhardt, NASCAR’s 14-time most popular driver and a Martinsville Speedway race-winner, joins a star-studded lineup taking part in moderated question-and-answer sessions prior to the STP 500 on April 2. Other guests include Earnhardt’s former crew chief, Steve Letarte, as well as drivers Denny Hamlin, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Ty Dillon.
The Green Flag Experience presented by Mountain Dew also gives fans the chance to watch driver introductions from the track, along with a morning full of fun and excitement on the track and under the large tent in The Plaza, located on the hill behind the souvenir display area.
In addition to the emceed question-and-answer sessions, the Green Flag Experience presented by Mountain Dew offers fans the opportunity to walk the frontstretch on race morning, sign the start/finish line, have a photo opportunity in mock Victory Lane, and enjoy music, games and prizes along with doughnuts, Danishes, coffee and juice.
The cost of the Green Flag Experience is $60 for adults and $30 for youth 12-and-under.
The driver question-and-answer sessions, food, music, games and prizes, and show cars will be held in The Plaza from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. The track portion will open at 10:00 a.m. and will remain open until the conclusion of driver introductions.
Admission to the Green Flag Experience does not include a ticket for the STP 500.
Advance ticket prices for the STP 500 begin at just $45.
Prices increase the week of the race.
