Former Rangers reporter Knox joins Big Hoss Broadcast Team

Jim Knox, long recognized as the entertaining roving reporter for Texas Rangers telecasts as well as various college football games, will be roaming the grandstands in a similar capacity for NASCAR and INDYCAR race weekends at Texas Motor Speedway this year.
Knox, known for his amusing antics and finding the unusual stories among the fans, will join the in-house “Big Hoss TV” broadcast team to provide humorous and engaging content for the spectators on the world’s largest TV during Texas Motor Speedway’s three major race weekends.
He will make his Texas Motor Speedway debut April 7-9 at the O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 NASCAR doubleheader weekend. Knox also will take part in the June 8-10 Rainguard Water Sealers 600 INDYCAR/NASCAR doubleheader and Nov. 2-5 AAA Texas 500 NASCAR tripleheader weekend.
Knox will be featured in the speedway’s television spot for the O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 during Sunday’s Daytona 500. The 30-second spot, which is a take-off on the ShamWow and Billy Mays-style “But wait….there’s more” informercials, will air in 12 local/regional markets during NASCAR’s season-opening Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race that will be broadcast on FOX (1 p.m. CT).
The spot will be aired on the FOX affiliates in Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Oklahoma City, San Antonio, Austin, Tulsa, Amarillo, Midland/Odessa, Waco/Temple/Bryan, Tyler/Longview/Nacogdoches/Lufkin, Wichita Falls/Lawton, Okla., and Beaumont/Port Arthur. Click here to watch the spot.
