DC Solar signs on as Title Sponsor of 2017 NASCAR spring XFINITY Series race at Phoenix

Phoenix International Raceway President Bryan R. Sperber announced today that DC Solar has been named the title sponsor of the track’s spring NASCAR XFINITY Series races in 2017 and 2018. The DC Solar 200 for the upcoming NASCAR season will take place on Saturday, March 18.

“We are very pleased to launch this new partnership with DC Solar,” said Phoenix Raceway president Bryan R. Sperber. “We think Phoenix Raceway will provide a great platform to showcase their cutting-edge solar equipment to businesses and consumers alike.”

In conjunction with the entitlement, PIR will implement DC Solar’s mobile solar generator portfolio throughout the Raceway property. Fans will benefit by the addition of Power Stations – DC Solar’s mobile generator-based, table-top stations that provide AC outlets for users to charge their personal devices. The convenience and sustainability of this new product, located throughout the Fan Midway, will increase the overall fan experience and engagement with PIR’s newest partner.

“We’re incredibly excited about our new partnership with Phoenix Raceway,” said Jeff Carpoff, DC Solar’s CEO. “As our relationship evolves, we look forward to introducing new and innovative methods for improving the fan experience, as well as raceway operations, with our renewable energy products.”

Phoenix Raceway will also incorporate mobile solar light towers on and around the track for safety and security, as well as traffic control. Not only will the towers reduce overall carbon emissions at the track, a single solar light tower will save over 24 gallons of diesel fuel per tower during the race weekend. Additionally, electric vehicle (EV) charging stations will be added so that EV drivers can charge their cars with mobile solar power while attending events.

DC Solar has committed to working with other tracks around the NASCAR circuit to integrate their products and technology, including the first-ever solar powered cool down unit on pit road for NASCAR XFINITY Series driver, Brennan Poole.  Driving the No. 48 DC Solar Chevrolet, Poole is wrapping up his first season running full time for Chip Ganassi Racing.

Tickets for the Can-Am 500 are available online at PhoenixRaceway.com, by phone at 1-866-408-RACE (7223) or in person at the PIR ticket office.
