Darlingron Raceway’s “Speed & Feed BBQ Cook Off and Car Show” set for Nov 11-12

Darlington Raceway’s Speed & Feed BBQ Cook-Off and Car Show on Nov. 11-12 is quickly approaching and the fourth annual event is shaping up to be a must attend for families in the local community.

In addition to the Speed & Feed offering quality barbeque and classic cars, great live music will also be featured as The Recollections Band will take the stage on Friday night (Nov. 11) from 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.

The Recollections Band offers a variety of classic beach and rhythm & blues music that is sure to entertain guests of all ages.

“We’re excited that The Recollections Band will be performing at our Speed & Feed event. They will provide a fun, beach music flair to our Friday night activities that should provide a great backdrop to entertain our guests that are here for the chicken wing cook-off,” track President Kerry Tharp said

The Speed & Feed is FREE and open to the public from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Friday, November 11 and 10 a.m.4 p.m. on Saturday, November 12. Unlimited tastings will be available for $5 per person per day while supplies last.

The BBQ cook-off will again be sanctioned by the South Carolina BBQ Association, one of the premier BBQ organizations in the country, and feature some of the top cook teams in the region. The teams will be vying to win the coveted $2,500 first-place prize, while also earning a spot in the World Food Championships.

Additionally, the two day car show will feature an open show of cars and trucks on display for enthusiasts, along with a swap meet. Participants will have the opportunity to make a lap around the famous 1.366-mile raceway on Friday night under the lights.

Pre-registration for the car show is $25. Day of show registration will be $30. A commemorative dash plaque will be given to the first 500 car and truck registrations. Trophies will be given to the top 50 cars and trucks, plus other special awards.

Darlington Raceway is also offering pace laps around the Lady in Black for a donation of $10 per ride or five non-perishable food items. All proceeds will benefit the track’s charitable arm Darlington Shares and The Lord Cares food bank in Darlington.
