Defending Bank of America 500 winner Joey Logano met with media and took part in a “Lunch with Logano” event on Tuesday at 300 East Restaurant in Charlotte, North Carolina, to preview Saturday’s Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway – the only Saturday night race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
Logano won his first NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte on May 21 and the Team Penske driver and perennial Chase contender sees the iconic superspeedway’s fall race as another crown jewel on the NASCAR schedule.
“It’s definitely a race that everyone wants to win,” Logano said. “I remember the first time I came to Charlotte to race. I was standing on pit road watching the cars go by and I remember thinking, ‘Holy moly, these guys are hauling the mail.’ This is a really fast race track and the track’s gotten a lot better in the time since it was paved … It’s important to run well here.”
