Speedway Motorsports Inc. Names Fickenscher Vice President of Special Projects

Speedway Motorsports, Inc. (NYSE:TRK) has promoted Jessica Fickenscher to the new position of vice president of special projects.

The promotion was announced by Marcus Smith, president and chief operating officer of Speedway Motorsports, Inc. (SMI) and president and general manager of Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Fickenscher will be responsible for a wide range of leadership functions at SMI and Charlotte Motor Speedway. In her new role, she will manage Speedway Motorsports, Inc.’s national food and beverage partnership with Levy Restaurants and support Smith with key projects related to both SMI and Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Fickenscher joined Speedway Motorsports, Inc. in 2000, working with the company’s internet initiative group, then served as an executive sales assistant for SMI’s Performance Racing Network before being named client services coordinator in 2002. She was promoted to client services manager in 2003 and to director of special projects for Speedway Motorsports, Inc. in 2008.

Fickenscher serves on the Board of Directors for the Cabarrus County Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Charlotte Regional Sports Commission.

“Jessica has proven to be a very effective manager and this promotion better positions her as a leader for Speedway Motorsports in the future,” said Smith. “As our company continues to grow and evolve, we are very fortunate to have quality, experienced people like Jessica who are eager to assume additional responsibilities.”
