Limited Late Model Showdown This Saturday at Greenville-Pickens

A 50-lap limited late model showdown plus four cylinders, renegades, super stocks, pure stocks and a limited late model meet and greet are all on an action-packed Saturday night card at Greenville-Pickens Speedway this weekend.

The limited late models are a first-year division at the historic half-mile, and so far we’ve seen the emergence of two 14-year-old talents in “The Young One” Luke Sorrow and Colby “The Kid” Howard, who have two wins apiece.

We have also seen history in the class as Tasha Kummer got her first career win earlier this season and earned herself a very popular trip to Call Double Aught Bryan Ramey victory lane.

Taylor Sorrow, older sister-in-law of Luke, has been close to getting her first win as well, while Andrew Cordell, Phillip Peters, R.J. West and Anthony Miller could be among those to step up to the occasion this Saturday night.

Fans can meet the limited late model racers on the front straightaway for pictures and autographs prior to the start of pre-race festivities.

Some of the most exciting racing has been put on by the four cylinder division this year, along with the renegades, pure stocks and super stocks as the “support” classes are always entertaining and the drivers put in just as much effort as our headline late model divisions.

Saturday’s forecast calls for 80 degree temperatures and partial sunshine so the staff at Greenville-Pickens Speedway is looking forward to a hot “Saturday Night Thunder” program and inviting everyone to come out and join the party!

Gates open at 4pm for spectators, with the first racing green flag at 7:15 pm following the meet and greet.  Admission is $12 for adults and $5 for youth ages 9-11.  Kids 8 and under are admitted free with paid adult.
