Championship Cup Series Returns to Homestead-Miami Speedway

The Championship Cup Series makes its return this weekend to Homestead-Miami Speedway, April 30-May 1, as riders in the Florida Region compete in various racing events throughout the weekend.

Current Florida Region overall points leader Greg Melka, a Tampa, Florida native, will enter the weekend with a 70.6 point lead over back-to-back defending champion Stefano Mesa (Boca Raton, Florida). In the amateur division, Max Angles from Hialeah, Florida and JD Padron (Cutler Bay, Florida) will head the field as riders compete on the 14 turn, 2.21-mile road course at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Gates open on Saturday at 8:00 a.m., with practice and time trials running from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Gates will open on Sunday at 7:00 a.m., with practice running from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m., and races beginning at 9:30 a.m. General admission and pit pass tickets are available for purchase, allowing fans into the infield for $15 on Saturday, and $20 on Sunday. Two-day passes are $30, with children 12 years and younger admitted for free. Parking is free all weekend.
