ACM Winner Bowman Part of Racing in Mobile

The 51st Annual Academy of Country Music Award put racing in Mobile back in the National Spotlight with the winner of the Song of the Year Award. “Nobody to Blame” was written by the trio of Chris Stapleton, Barry Bales and Ronnie Bowman (picture right).
Bowman an awarding winning country and blue grass artist was on stage in Las Vegas to accept the award with his co-writers. Racing fans in Mobile will remember Bowman from singing the national anthem at the ARCA Mobile 200 and performing at the Home Mortgage of America Green Flag party with Mark Collie and Mobile’s Holli Mosley.
“Thanks to our relationship with So Good Entertainment in Nashville and Venturini Motorsports we have been very fortunate to have some great singers perform in Mobile during race week,” offered promoter Tommy Praytor. “Congratulations to Ronnie on winning and ACM, how cool is that?”
Bowman is a household name in the Bluegrass community and is no stranger to awards. Bowman has been awarded IBMA Male Vocalist of the Year three times, has twice earned the IBMA song of the Year award (“Three Rusty Nails”, and “Cold Virginia Night”), and was awarded the Gospel Performance of the Year award for “Three Rusty Nails”. As a songwriter Ronnie has earned a great deal of respect not only among Bluegrass professionals, but also in Country Music. Both Brooks & Dunn, and Kenny Chesney have brought Ronnie Bowman originals to #1, and Lee Ann Womack also included a song by Ronnie on the multiplatinum selling album “I hope you Dance”.
“Racing in Mobile continues to shine a positive light on Mobile, award winning artist, the founder of ESPN, NASCAR, we’re having a big year,” continued Praytor. “The speedway had a huge crowd this weekend for the King of the Wing and we have a lot of fun in store for the competitors and the fans on the 16th. Plus the Motorcycle guys are nuts.”
