Evergreen’s Four-Banger Sunday to Kick Off This Weekend

Following a stellar Enduro event last weekend, Evergreen Raceway is in full force and gearing up for their next show- “Four Banger Sunday”.

The speedway has decided to host a non-track points pre-season event for their regular Four Cylinder and INEX Legends divisions on Sunday, March 20. The INEX Bandoleros are also on the card. Both INEX divisions will receive INEX points.

Both, the Four Cylinders and INEX Legends drivers will draw for starting positions prior to eight lap heat races. Their heat race finish, mixed with a redraw will determine the starting lineup for their 30-lap main event. The number of feature laps for the INEX Bandoleros will be decided on race day, based on car count.

There is no driver registration fee to compete, as the pit admission fee covers that cost. The speedway utilizes a Westhold scoring system. If needed, scoring transponders will be available for rental for the cost of $10.

It was recently announced that if 30 or more INEX Legends are on hand, the track will pay out $500 to the winner. The same will apply to the Four Cylinder division. The remainder of the purse is listed under the ‘payout’ tab on the speedway website.

Pit admission is set at $35 per person for the ‘Four-Banger Sunday’ show on March 20th and grandstand admission will be $7. Kids 10 years of age and younger are always admitted for free and there is a $2 discount for veterans, handicapped and active military members.

The pit gates will open at 10:30 AM and practice will start at 12:30 PM. The grandstands will be open at 12:30 PM and heat races will kick off at 2 PM.

The concession stand will be open for business the day of the event.

The Easter holiday and then practice weekends will follow this much anticipated event and many drivers and fans are still excited over the recent ‘March Enduro Madness’ show that had record car and fan counts.

Those Enduro shows will continue, as the speedway is currently in the works of planning the next Enduro shows.

“We’re working on more Enduros”, noted Track Manager, Jason Makarewicz.

“Gene Ostrowski and I are coming up with a better payout, based on the number of cars and we’re adding a few minor safety related rules.

“All of that info will be released soon and we’re planning to host our bone stock Enduros in May, July, September and October. After that the plan is to have three or four race wintertime Enduro Series.”

The speedway is seeking billboard and divisional sponsors for the entire season. If interested, please visit www.evergreenracewaypark.com for contact information and directions. Please like their Facebook page as well.
