NASCAR XFINITY Series race at MIS named Menards 250 presented by Valvoline™

ichigan International Speedway (MIS) officials are proud to partner with Menards ® and Valvoline™ to bring fans the Menards 250 presented by Valvoline on June 11.

While Valvoline has had a presence in NASCAR for years, this marks the first time the organization has sponsored a race at NASCAR’s fastest track. As title sponsor, Valvoline will help to market the Menards brand and its involvement as the official motor oil of the stores through television, radio, print and social mediums on a nationwide scale.

“Throughout our history, Valvoline has aligned with teams, drivers and racing series that embody our brand dedication to keep moving, innovating and providing quality consumer experiences across multiple platforms,” said Jamal Muashsher, Valvoline Global Brands, director of marketing. “Our sponsorship of the XFINITY Series and Menards 250 adds to this commitment, and we are proud to align with both Menards and the storied Michigan International Speedway ahead of the June event.”

“Valvoline and Menards have both had a long-standing involvement in NASCAR, and we are excited they have decided to join our team,” MIS President Roger Curtis said. “It makes the partnership even better when you can find organizations who share a similar passion for NASCAR and the guest experience. I am excited that the NASCAR XFINITY race at Michigan International Speedway will be called the Menards 250 presented by Valvoline.

Race fans have made Menards their stop for all of their tailgating supplies before coming to the track. Now, those same fans can get the best motor oil for their vehicles at Menards.

Each year about 385,000 people visit MIS, generating an economic impact of more than $414 million. Nearly 60 percent of the guests on race weekends come from outside Michigan, making MIS the largest welcome center in the state.

Located in Brooklyn, Michigan, a town of about 1,200, MIS is one of only 23 facilities in the world to hold such an event. The racetrack seats more than 72,000 people in its grandstands, with tens of thousands of others in the infield, suites and campgrounds that will all be introduced to the Valvoline and Menards brands in June.

Ticket prices will remain low at MIS for the Menards 250 presented by Valvoline in 2016. Race fans who purchase early will have the best prices and the best seats. Tickets for a NASCAR XFINITY race start at $40, with children 12 and under free in all sections, ensuring families a chance to see NASCAR at affordable prices. In addition, children 13-16 years old can purchase a ticket for half price.

Fans can also purchase tickets to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series FireKeepers Casino 400 on June 12 beginning at $44, with children 12 and under free in all sections.
