March Madness, Motorsports Style Continues At Greenville-Pickens Speedway This Saturday

March Madness, motorsports style, continues this Saturday as the Greenville-Pickens Speedway fires up a five division card highlighted by a 75-lap race for the tracks’s new limited late model division.

Last week’s winner Luke Sorrow will be back with his bright yellow No.9 to see if he can make it two wins in a row. Colby Howard, who led a majority of last week’s 75-lapper before eventually crossing the line in third place, is also expected to be back along with last week’s second place finisher Andrew Cordell, Greg “Toots” Welborn and more as the newest weekly division takes center stage for the first time this year.

Track Promoter Anthony Anders is excited about the potential this division has for growth at the track and in the region.

“When I looked at what Ed Cox had put together with the Southeast Limited Late Model Series, I realized that if we could develop the division in this area, we could have something very nice for the racers who want to go late model racing in a bit more of an affordable way,” Anders said. “It’s a nice class for a young racer like Luke Sorrow or Colby Howard to get some experience in before moving to the late model stocks, but it’s also an affordable way for any racer to go racing and have both a weekly track and a competitive touring series to be involved with.  We’re committed to the growth of the class at Greenville-Pickens and we’re looking forward to this Saturday’s 75-lap feature.”

Also on the card this Saturday will be the super stocks, renegades, pure stocks and four cylinders.  There will also be a POWER WHEELS race for the kids, so bring your kids’ POWER WHEELS with you to the track (6 or 12 volt battery only).

Gates will open at 4pm.  The first feature race gets the green at 7pm.
