TaxSlayer.com Expands Racing Ties – TaxSlayer.com Director of Motorsports Daniel Eubanks announced expanded motorsports plans for his company Friday at Charlotte Motor Speedway. In addition to a continued partnership with JR Motorsports for 2012, TaxSlayer.com will become the title sponsor of the 27th annual TaxSlayer.com Motorsports Journalism Awards of Excellence in honor of Russ Catlin.

TaxSlayer.com will sponsor JR Motorsports cars for 14 races next season – two with Dale Earnhardt Jr. (Daytona and Bristol) and 12 with Aric Almirola.

“The fact they sponsor the race car and I get to drive it is a huge deal, but on a personal level, they’ve become friends,” Almirola said. “It’s a family-run business, just like JR Motorsports is. I really feel I’m part of what TaxSlayer.com is, not just on the race track, but hanging out with them as well.”

The TaxSlayer.com Motorsports Journalism Awards of Excellence are presented to individuals who capture the passion, excitement and compelling stories of motorsports through distinguished journalism. This year’s awards – in categories including daily newspaper, other written media, local radio and TV broadcast, national radio and TV broadcast and photojournalism – will be presented at the Jan., 2012 NASCAR Sprint Media Tour.
