Grandview Speedway Starts Busy July Race Schedule With Pa 410 Sprint Speedweek Event on July 2, 90’s Night $10 Fan Admission With Double Sportsman Features on Saturday

Following a busy and action-filled month of June, Grandview Speedway is all set to move into an equally busy and exciting month of July racing schedule.

The month begins with a Thunder on the Hill Racing Series event on Tuesday, July 2 with a visit by the powerful 410 Sprint Cars of the Pennsylvania Posse in the 34th running of PA Sprint Car Speed Week. The Speed Week event at Grandview is titled the Hodnett Cup and salutes the late driver who is one of the all-time winningest 410 Sprint drivers in Grandview history.

The program will be sponsored by HVAC Distributors Partners for Success and includes time trials and qualifying races leading up to the 35-lap 410 Sprint Car main event, where drivers will be chasing a $10,000 winner’s prize for the 35-lap feature race along with the Hodnett Cup, a former Greg Hodnett trophy that carries the name of each season’s winner and is present for each season’s race event.

The Tuesday night show will also include the 358 NASCAR Modifieds running in qualifying races and a 30-lap $3000 to win main event. Pioneer Pole Buildings has once again posted a first time Thunder Series winner’s bonus of $2000, making for a possible $5000 payday for the 358 Modified feature event.

Advance ticket holders may enter the grandstand at 4:30 pm, with general admission tickets going on sale and grandstand gates opening at 5 pm. Adult grandstand tickets are $30, children 6 to 11 are $10, while kids 5 and under are admitted for free. Pit admission is $45 and a license is not required.

Race fans will then be taking a trip down memory lane on Saturday night when Grandview Speedway presents 90’s night.

Fans are encouraged to wear their 1990’s attire to the track on Saturday night.

The highlight of the night will be the roll back of the grandstand admission to 1990’s pricing, as fans will pay just $10 for a complete night of NASCAR Modified and Sportsman competition.

The program on Saturday, July 6 will be a NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series double-header featuring the T.P. Trailer Modifieds and T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman. The race program will consist of qualifying races for both divisions leading into the 30-lap T.P. Trailer Modified feature and 25-lap T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman main event, plus two consolations and a 25-lap T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman feature from the June 29th race program which was cut short by rain last Saturday night.

On Saturday, July 6 pit gates will open at 4 pm. with grandstand gates opening at 5:30 pm. warm-ups starting at 6:15 pm. and racing starting at 7:30 pm.

Grandstand admission is just $10, students 10-15 with ID are $10, while children ages 9 and under will be admitted free of charge. Pit admission is $35 for NASCAR members and $45 for non-members.

For the Tuesday, July 2 special event, the Grandview Speedway Modified regulars will be battling it out with several invaders for the top prize in Thunder Series Modified action. In the last event, Eric Kormann was able to claim the first time winners’ bonus from Pioneer Pole Buildings!

The Thunder on the Hill Racing Series PA Speed Week race is saluting Greg Hodnett who was a six-time Thunder Series Champion (2003, 2009, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015), a nine-time feature winner (tied for the most 410 Sprint wins with Fred Rahmer, Lance Dewease and Billy Pauch), and set the record for most consecutive wins at four in a row (now tied by Brady Bacon).

Greg Hodnett’s first Thunder win was July 20, 1999, and final win was July 26, 2016. Hodnett was able to win Grandview’s PA Speed Week race three straight times in 2012, 2014 and 2016, with 2013 and 2015 events falling to the weather.

More recent PA Speed Week winners at Grandview include Kyle Larson in 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2021, Christopher Bell in 2019, and Rico Abreu was victorious in 2022. The event last season fell to the weather.

This Tuesday night prior to the racing program will be the Low Down and Dirty meet and greet hosted by Kurt Bettler and Jennifer Umbenhauer. So far Sprint Car driver Mike Thompson is set to be part of the Meet & Greet, with the Low Down and Dirty crew working on a couple more drivers to participate.

The pre-race Meet and Greet is held in the main gate area from 4:30 to 5:30 pm and is a great time for fans to meet the drivers up close, collect some autographs, take photos, and talk racing with their favorite drivers before the night’s program gets underway.

Grandview Speedway was not able to complete the entire race program this past Saturday night, with rain ending the program during the final qualifying heat race. This has now set up a busy next couple of weeks on the schedule with makeup consolations and features for both the T.P. Trailer Modifieds and T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman to be added to new and complete shows on July 6 and July 20.

The T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman drivers will see their two consolations and feature from Saturday, June 29 added to the show this Saturday, July 6, in addition to a complete new show of qualifying and feature action for both the T.P. Trailer Modifieds and T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman.

All of this action on July 6 will take place ON 90’S NIGHT AS PLANNED FOR JUST $10 GRANDSTAND ADMISSION!

The following week on Saturday July 13 will see the races go on as scheduled with the 54th running of the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman Firecracker 40 along with the T. P. Trailer Modifieds in a two-division NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series race program.

The T.P. Trailer Modifieds will see their fourth heat to be completed along with the two consolations and 30-lap feature from June 29 added to the show on July 20, in addition to a complete new two-division program of T.P. Trailer Modified and T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman action.
