SCC Hires Henshaw As Executive Director; Carlin Promoted To TMS Director Of Marketing

With more than 13 years of fundraising experience for high-profile events, Jennifer Henshaw has been hired as the new executive director of Speedway Children’s Charities while the charity’s former executive director Jaime Carlin has been promoted to the speedway’s director of marketing, Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage announced today.

Henshaw, a University of North Texas graduate, has helped oversee several of the Dallas/Fort Worth area’s largest fundraising events for charitable organizations. As manager of distinguished events for the American Cancer Society, she oversaw the Dallas Cattle Barons Ball – the single largest fundraiser in the nation for cancer research through the American Cancer Society – that successfully generated more than $3 million in revenue each of her five years with the organization. She also was responsible for setting the foundation for several new events for the American Cancer Society that currently generates more than $250,000.

Prior to her arrival with Speedway Children’s Charities, Henshaw served as the fund development and event liaison for the Dallas Zoological Society. There she instituted a new fundraising process and strategy that now is implemented by the development team, in addition to working with the development board to create new fundraising events.

“I am thrilled to accept the position of executive director of Speedway Children’s Charities at Texas Motor Speedway,” Henshaw said. “Serving the community is very important to me. Being able to do so both personally and professionally for such an incredible charity is absolutely my dream job. I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity here at Texas Motor Speedway.”

Carlin has served as Speedway Children’s Charities executive director for the previous 2½ years. During her leadership, Carlin has helped direct such events as the Texas Motorsports Hall of Fame Gala, AutoTrader.com Celebrity Bowling Tournament and Tony Stewart “Smoke Show,” which has become the highest grossing, single-day event for Speedway Children’s Charities. Under her guidance, Speedway Children’s Charities raised over $1 million annually to help children’s organizations in North Texas.

Carlin’s success not only lies in non-profit organizations, but during her career she has helped guide local businesses with marketing strategies. She has more than 10 years of experience in business and consumer marketing, working with companies of varying sizes. She also was instrumental in the success of Dallas-based SAGE Quick Technologies, Inc. During her time as director of marketing with the company, she played a key role in the corporate rebranding strategy and development of comprehensive marketing campaigns that helped yield the largest market share gains in the company’s 15-year history.

“It has been an honor to be able to work with the community and help so many children in need through Speedway Children’s Charities,” Carlin said. “I look forward to moving to the speedway side of the business and joining one of the most talented and hardest-working group of professionals in all of motorsports.”
