Dillon Motor Speedway Crowns Track Champions, Prepares For Monster Trucks

After hours of fighting the misty rain, Dillon Motor Speedway crowned its track champions in the Late Model, Charger, Street Stock and Four Cylinder divisions on Saturday, September 26.

The Late Model feature never got underway due to the weather but with no position in the point standings able to change, BJ Mackey was declared the 2015 Late Model Track Champion.

In the Charger division, Michael Williams went to Victory Lane. This year’s 2015 Charger Track Champion, Brian Owens finished second, followed by Kevin Ellis. Mike Watts earned a hard-fought fourth place finish, and Ben Watford rounded out the top-five.

Sonny Shoffen took the checkered flag in the Street Stock division and rolled into Victory Lane with his brakes on fire after an impressive celebratory burnout. After finishing second, Ricky Locklair Jr. was crowned the 2015 Street Stock Track Champion. Jeff Melton and AJ Hyatt fought each other hard all night long and finished third and fourth respectively. Tommy Poole finished fifth.

Kris Hetu dominated to win the Four Cylinder feature on Saturday night. Finishing second was JR Moore, who claimed his first Four Cylinder track championship at the speedway. Michael Stokes finished third on Saturday night, while Tommy Altman crossed the line in fourth.

The Super Truck feature also didn’t get underway on Saturday due to the rainy weather.
