The trio of Becky, Stephanie and Brittany of “The Great American Sweethearts!” has grown by one as Texas Motor Speedway announced that Katie will serve as the fourth member of the group after winning the search for the next “Great American Sweetheart!”
Katie was one of 12 finalists selected from more than 120 applicants. As the newest member, Katie has earned an $8,000 contract with Texas Motor Speedway that includes local and national exposure, a two-year modeling contract with The Campbell Agency in Dallas, a professional makeover and a photo session for her personal portfolio.
“I’m really excited to get started,” Katie said. “This has been a life-changing experience and I’m excited to experience everything that it has in store. I feel very blessed with this opportunity and look forward to joining a new team.”
Katie, a native of nearby Cleburne, recently graduated from Charleston Southern University in North Charleston, S.C., with a degree in communications. During her time at Charleston Southern University, not only did she excel in the classroom but on the basketball court as well. Katie played four years on the women’s basketball team where she served as the team captain and was named the 2011 Big South Conference Player of the Year.
Being in the spotlight is nothing new for Katie. She has modeled for nationwide women’s fashion retailer Caché and appeared in promotional shoots for restaurants in Charleston, S.C.
“The Great American Sweethearts!” were introduced in 2010 to serve as the faces of the speedway’s “No Limits” campaign. From television commercials to billboards, the ladies have helped promote all the exciting racing at Texas Motor Speedway. “The Great American Sweethearts!” have become a fan favorite since their debut, visiting with fans during the speedway’s three major race weekends along the speedway’s souvenir midway, suites and “No Limits” Garage Party presented by WinStar World Casino.
