Sara Evans to Perform Bank of America 500 Pre-Race Concert

Multi-platinum recording artist and country music superstar Sara Evans will perform a pre-race concert for the 2011 Bank of America 500, Oct. 15, at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The concert will begin around 5:30 p.m. on the speedway’s frontstretch and will be part of the spectacular Bank of America 500 pre-race show.

“I’m so excited to be performing at the Bank of America 500,” said Evans. “I’ve always been a NASCAR fan and I LOVE playing in Charlotte so this will be a lot of fun for the band and I!”

The New Franklin, Mo., native is currently touring nationwide with country group Rascal Flatts in support of her sixth studio album, “Stronger,”  which debuted earlier this year at No. 1 on “Billboard’s” Top Country Albums chart. The first single from the album, “A Little Bit Stronger,” debuted at No. 1 on “Billboard’s” Hot Country Songs chart and has been nominated for the Single of the Year award at the upcoming Country Music Association (CMA) awards presentation in November. Evans has also been nominated for the Female Vocalist of the Year award by the CMA.

Evans has five number one country hits and several gold and platinum-certified albums, including her 2000 double-platinum album “Born to Fly.” She has been honored with numerous accolades, among them the 2006 Academy of Country Music’s Female Vocalist of the Year. She also won the hearts of television viewers as the first-ever country star to compete in the hit ABC television show “Dancing with the Stars.”
