Throttle Fest Memphis powered by Fun Ford Series at Memphis International Raceway is just around the corner (August 28-29) and one of the several new wrinkles added to this year’s show is FocusFest. Lovers of the Ford Focus will converge on MIR August 28-29 to take part in FocusFest part of Throttle Fest Memphis powered by Fun Ford Series.
This year, more than 150 devotees of the Blue Oval brand’s sporty compact have registered for the drag racing, Crutcher Insurance Group of Collierville car show and autocross that will be available to participants during the Fun Ford Series portion of Throttle Fest Memphis.
“It’s an honor to have FocusFest as a part of our weekend,” said MIR VP and GM Pam Kendrick. “It’s always exciting to have a wide variety of car enthusiasts participate in our events. We anticipate they will enjoy all the track activities we have ready for those drivers.”
FocusFest will put those cars through their paces with contests in autocross, the drag strip and they’ll also be judged in the Crutcher Insurance Group of Collierville car show.
The weekend will get started with Midnight Madness on Friday night, August 28. In addition to the drag racing, drifting with Traction Optional and open car show fans know and love about Midnight Madness, a full slate of Throttle Fest activities are included such as the Full Throttle Saloon and live music.
On Saturday a full day of activity is scheduled with autocross kicking the day off at 8 a.m. with drag racing starting at 10 a.m. and the Crutcher Insurance Group of Collierville car show judging in the afternoon. Bands will started on the stage at 5 p.m. leading up to headliner Jackyl taking the stage at 10 p.m.
