Sammy Hagar headlines Loud and Proud pre-race show fueled by American Ethanol

Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Sammy Hagar is teaming up with Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham and Vic Johnson for their only visit to North Texas as the all-star quartet will headline the pre-race activities for the AAA Texas 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday, Nov. 8, at Texas Motor Speedway.

 

Sammy Hagar and The Circle featuring Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham and Vic Johnson will perform a free one-hour concert on pit road as part of the Loud and Proud Pre-Race Show fueled by American Ethanol and provide fans with a rare opportunity to experience music spanning more than 40 years of Hagar’s career. With Bonham on board, they can also expect a few of Led Zeppelin’s biggest hits added to the mix.

 

Joining Hagar for the concert will be Anthony, the renowned rhythm section bassist who has played with him for the last 30 years in bands including Van Halen and Chickenfoot; Johnson, guitarist from Hagar’s band the Wabos; and Bonham, acclaimed drummer and son of iconic Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham.

 

AAA Texas 500 ticketholders also will have an opportunity to enjoy Sammy Hagar and The Circle stage side along with driver introductions by purchasing a Loud and Proud Pre-Race Show fueled by American Ethanol pass for $79. Pre-race passes as well as individual tickets for the AAA Texas 500 go on sale Friday, beginning at 9 a.m. CT, through the Texas Motor Speedway ticket office at 817.215.8500 or www.texasmotorspeedway.com. The pre-race pass and access is free for all Texas Motor Speedway season ticket holders. All pre-race passes must be accompanied with a ticket to the AAA Texas 500.

 

Hagar, also known as “The Red Rocker,” is a Grammy award-winning vocalist, guitarist, songwriter and musician who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007 as a member of Van Halen. 

 

From breaking into the industry with the seminal hard rock band Montrose to his multiplatinum solo career and storied ride as front man for Van Halen, he has set the tone for some of the greatest rock anthems written including “I Can’t Drive 55,” “Rock Candy,” “I’ll Fall in Love Again,” “There’s Only One Way to Rock,” “Your Love Is Driving Me Crazy,” “Finish What Ya Started,”  “Right Now” and “Why Can’t This Be Love.”

 

Throughout his prolific four decade career, Hagar’s solo and group albums have amassed 25 Platinum certifications globally on sales surpassing 40 million. Sammy Hagar and The Circle released their first album as a group in May called “At Your Service.” The live album includes music originally recorded by legendary acts Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, Sammy Hagar and The Waboritas and Montrose.

In addition to the Loud and Proud Pre-Race Show fueled by American Ethanol passes being available Friday, individual tickets for the AAA Texas 500 will go on sale for the first time and beginning as low as $30.

 

The AAA Texas 500 is the eighth race of the 10-event Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup and the middle race of the Eliminator 8 segment of the Chase. The AAA Texas 500 is part of a NASCAR tripleheader that also includes the Camping World Truck Series WinStar World Casino & Resort 350 on Friday, Nov. 6, and XFINITY Series O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge on Saturday, Nov. 7.
