DAYTONA Rising August Project Update: DAYTONA Rising Hits Two-Year Mark

After successfully hosting another series of events during last month’s Coke Zero 400 Weekend Powered By Coca-Cola, Daytona International Speedway turns its focus on the final stretch of construction activities related to the DAYTONA Rising project.

“We’re thrilled to reach the two-year mark in the DAYTONA Rising project,” said Daytona International Speedway President Joie Chitwood III. “We will keep up the momentum and remain on schedule so that our fans can see the world’s first motorsports stadium in January 2016.”

To date, over 40,000 new seats have been installed near the west end of the Speedway along with 14,000 seats in the east end. In addition, new concessions, restrooms, vertical transportation options and several new “neighborhood” areas are in place.

Upcoming construction activities include:

·         Completion of escalator installation

·         Initial installation of solar array structure

·         Ongoing installation of trackside suite tower glass

·         Continued development of hospitality areas/suites
