Pocono Raceway and the American Red Cross are asking you to honor fallen troopers of the Pennsylvania State Police by helping to save lives through a generous blood donation.
The 10th annual Pocono Raceway blood drive will be on Thursday July 9 from 1:00 to 7:00 pm at Pocono Raceway, 1234 Long Pond Road, Long Pond.
“It’s an event that will pay tribute to troopers that made the ultimate sacrifice and those everyday heroes protecting and serving in your community,” said Colin Riccobon, external communications manager, American Red Cross Northeastern Pennsylvania Blood Services Region.
As a thank you to those who support this remembrance blood drive, Pocono Raceway is giving all presenting donors the chance to win a “Fantasy Race Package.” The winner will receive four Terrace Club seats and will be greeting all the Pennsylvania 400 drivers during driver introductions prior to the start of the August 2, 2015 NASCAR race at Pocono.
Everyone who attends may participate in the “Ride for the Red” event and take a ride around the Pocono Racetrack with their own vehicle for a $10 donation (per lap). All donations benefit the American Red Cross Disaster Fund. Blood Donors must participate in the “Ride for the Red” event before donating blood. You do not need to donate blood to participate in the “Ride for the Red”.
