With nine days of motorcycle demo rides, 20 bike vendors, stunt shows, live concerts and more than 30 races, New Hampshire Motor Speedway has become an ultimate attraction for thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts traveling to Laconia Motorcycle Week. The weeklong celebration – June 13 to 21 – will culminate with the 92nd annual Loudon Classic, the oldest longest running motorcycle race in the nation.
Dating back more than 50 years to the Bryar Motorsports Park days, motorcycle racing has been an integral part of New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
The festivities begin on June 13 and 14 when vintage motorcycles compete for the continental titles, a Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) North America championship. Serving as Grand Marshal will be Ed Fisher – winner of the 1953 Loudon Classic and AMA Hall of Fame member – who will celebrate his 90th birthday this weekend.
The speedway is the headquarters for demo rides, where riders can take a spin on the latest and greatest motorcycles with companies like Harley Davidson, Victory, Indian, Yamaha and Can-Am. These rides will be available beginning Monday, June 15 and run through Saturday, June 20 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A total of 20 vendors will also be selling everything from leather and accessories to motorcycle art every day in the Fan Zone (S2 Display Lot). The beer tent and food vendors will be open daily with live music from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 14 as well as June 18–21.
“The joy of the Laconia Rally is to ride and go places and we want to give the riders another destination,” said David McGrath, the speedway’s vice president of corporate sales. “The speedway is always looking to enhance the event with new entertainment and racing and we think motorcycle enthusiasts will enjoy everything we have to offer.”
Starting Friday, June 19, the Loudon Classic’s traditional three days of racing will begin. The 92nd annual Loudon Classic Middleweight Grand Prix will run on the afternoon of Saturday, June 20. Last year’s Classic was won by three-time champion Scott Greenwood from Dunbarton, N.H.
“The Loudon Classic is a race I look forward to each year. It’s fun to race in front of a larger crowd at New Hampshire Motor Speedway as the event has a long history and people that I only get to see once a year stop in to say hello,” said Greenwood. “Being from New Hampshire and a multi-time race winner has brought me a lot of great memories over the years. It’s a fairly long race around a challenging race course and the competition is always strong. I will be bringing my best effort to try and stand on the top of the podium.”
With more than 30 races, the race weekend will feature different series and types of motorcycles, including the Granite State Legends Cars, which are powered by motorcycle engines, AMA Supermoto, USCRA Side Cars and the Loudon Road Race Series.
ILLConduct, a four-man Harley Davidson stunt team, will be on property from Saturday to Saturday, June 13-20. Pushing motorcycle stunt riding to new limits and promoting the sport/industry and their sponsors through cutting-edge shows, ILLConduct has held world record-breaking events as well as appearances and exposure around the globe.
In addition to on- and off-track events, New Hampshire Motor Speedway will once again offer Penguin motorcycle racing classes Wednesday and Thursday on the track.
Tickets and camping for the Loudon Classic will be available at the gate. The 92nd Loudon Classic is part of the 2015 Oxford Casino Season of Speed at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, which also includes the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series New Hampshire 301 on July 19 and SYLVANIA 300 on Sept. 27.
