SCC Hosts Online Charity Auction in Advance of NASCAR Weekend

For the first time at Sonoma Raceway, race fans can lock-in incredible race-day experiences and NASCAR collectibles in advance of the Toyota/Save Mart 350 race weekend with the Speedway Children’s Charities (SCC) online charity auction.

The auction, which launches today, will feature nearly 30 items, including “Ride of a Lifetime” experiences with top NASCAR drivers, Jeff Gordon collectibles and unique race-weekend packages. The online auction will be available at www.sccauctions.com from June 8 to June 22 at noon (Pacific). The new format opens the auction to all race fans, including those who still need to purchase tickets for race weekend.

The highlight of the auction is 16 Ride of a Lifetime experiences, which offer fans a chance to ride with their favorite NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver around the road course in the back of a Toyota Tundra during pre-race ceremonies.

The auction will also include exclusive Gordon items to commemorate his final race as a full-time Sprint Cup Series driver in Sonoma. These items will include Jeff Gordon-signed pictures commemorating each of his five wins at Sonoma and an authentic crew fire suit.

All proceeds from the auction benefit the Sonoma chapter of SCC, the charitable arm of Sonoma Raceway. The Sonoma Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities is dedicated to helping children in need in Sonoma County and has distributed more than $4.8 million to qualified youth groups since 2001. This package includes a two-night stay at Sonoma Mission Inn, including a $300 gift certificate, a $100 gift card to Girl and the Fig, a dinner for two at Santé, a tour and tasting for six at Keller Estates Winery, and a retro themed filled cooler with Sears Point branded memorabilia. Raffle tickets sell for $1 each, 6 for $5, 13 for $10 and 27 for $20. Tickets can be purchased during race weekend at the Ticket Pit Stop located behind the Main Grandstand. The winning ticket will be chosen on Sept. 3.
