Darlington Raceway to celebrate Daytona 500 with community watch party at Buffalo Wild Wings

Darlington Raceway will celebrate the start of the 2015 NASCAR season by hosting its fourth annual community watch party during the Daytona 500 on Sunday, Feb. 22, at Buffalo Wild Wings in Florence, S.C.

The event will start at noon and continue until the conclusion of the Great American Race, which will be broadcast live on FOX. The race will also be broadcast on MRN and locally on WEGX Eagle 92.9 FM.

The community watch party will feature food and drink specials courtesy of Buffalo Wild Wings and Crown Beverages. Fans who attend will have the chance to win tickets, pit passes and pre-race ceremony wristbands, along with other prizes and giveaways.

A new element added this year will give fans the opportunity to donate 10 percent of their total food and drink bill to the track’s non-profit arm Darlington Shares. Fans can simply tell their Buffalo Wild Wings server they want to participate.

Darlington Raceway’s Lady in Black, Kaitlyn Bailey, will also be present to unveil her new retro-style firesuit as part of the track’s 2015 platform of celebrating its storied history.

“Our community watch party is a great way for us to engage with our local race fans and celebrate the start of the 2015 NASCAR season,” track president Chip Wile said. “We appreciate our partners, WEGX Eagle 92.9 and Crown Beverages, for their efforts in helping make the event a reality.”

Darlington Raceway is also partnering with WBTW News 13 and WEGX Eagle 92.9 FM for live local coverage of Budweiser Speedweeks, beginning on Thursday, Feb. 19.
