Grandview Speedway Racing Features a Modified and Sportsman Saturday Night Double-Header, May Start Times Adjusted, Strunk and Delliponti Lead Point Standings

It was another wild and exciting night of NASCAR stock car racing last Saturday night featuring two first time winners, and Grandview Speedway prepares for another action packed program again this weekend.

The race event planned for this Saturday, April 27 will be featuring the T.P. Trailer Modifieds and the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman in another program run under the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series banner. Each division will run a series of qualifying races leading up to the 30-lap Modified and 25-lap Sportsman main events.

On Saturday night pit gates open at 3 pm, grandstand gates open at 4 pm, followed by warm-ups at 5 pm, and the qualifying events start the racing action at 6 pm.

Grandstand admission for adults is $20, students 10-15 with ID are $10, while children ages 9 and under are admitted free. Pit admission is $35 for NASCAR members, and $45 for non-members.

Grandview Speedway management is also announcing a slight change of plans for the starting times for racing events coming up at the beginning of May. Following the month of April which saw 6 pm start times, a switch to 6:30 pm start times will be used to start the month of May since the weather continues to be on the cool side of late (The plan usually is to go to 7:30 start times at the beginning of May).

Management will monitor the situation as far as weather and track conditions are concerned, and make any necessary adjustments in the time schedule. An announcement will be made as to exactly which week starting times will be switching to the traditional 7:30 start for the summer months.

Last Saturday night Louden Reimert scored his first career T.P. Trailer NASCAR Modified win at Grandview Speedway, becoming the 188th driver to ever win a 358 Modified race at the track.

With the win, Reimert joined the winner’s list along with his father Shawn, and as a driver his grandfather Terry as Grandview racers, making for three generations of Reimert family competitors.

The T.P. Trailer Modified point standings continue to see Jeff Strunk leading the way following a sixth place feature run last Saturday night, while Duane Howard moved into second position in points following his seventh place feature effort.

Mike Gular now holds down the third position in points after scoring a ninth on Saturday, while Alex Yankowski and Craig Von Dohren round out the top five in points after they both just missed top ten feature finishes.

The top ten in T.P. Trailer Modified points are 1. Jeff Strunk – 815, 2. Duane Howard – 771, 3. Mike Gular – 755, 4. Alex Yankowski – 683, 5. Craig Von Dohren – 665, 6. Jared Umbenhauer – 588, 7. Ryan Watt – 546, 8. Eddie Strada – 540, 9. Tim Buckwalter – 513, 10. Brett Kressley – 489.

In the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman division, it was the second consecutive week that a driver scored his first career win. This week it was Colton Perry picking up the victory following a great battle with Jesse Hirthler. Perry becomes the 72nd driver to ever win in the division at Grandview.

With three drivers being separated by only three points at the top of the point standings entering last Saturday’s event, things were really shuffled around by the conclusion of the program. The  number two driver entering the night, Adrianna Delliponti, left the night with the point lead despite being involved in a mid-race crash that sent her to the pits and back out rallying for a 16th place finish.

Point leader Addison Meitzler and third place Mike Schneck Jr. both suffered problems for different reasons and failed to qualify, dropping them to eighth and ninth in the standings.

Dylan Swinehart had to qualify through a consolation, then raced home to a ninth place feature run to move up to second in points, while Logan Watt ended his night with a fine fifth place effort and moved up to third in points.

Jesse Hirthler scored a third place feature run and holds down fourth in points, while Ryan Graver ended his night outside the top ten after being involved in a feature mishap, but holds down fifth in the point standings.

The top ten in T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman points are 1. Adrianna Delliponti – 703, 2. Dylan Swinehart – 680, 3. Logan Watt – 669, 4. Jesse Hirthler – 617, 5. Ryan Graver – 607, 6. Nathan Mohr – 585, 7. Decker Swinehart – 570, 8. Addison Meitzler – 558, 9. Mike Schneck Jr. – 555, 10. Logan Bauman- 508.
