Junior Johnson and Miss Sprint Cup Kick Off Bank of America 500 Trophy Tour Presented by Coca-Cola and Walmart

NASCAR Hall of Famer Junior Johnson and Miss Sprint Cup Julianna White joined a Charlotte Motor Speedway road show today and greeted race fans at Walmart in Biscoe, N.C., at the kickoff of the Bank of America 500 Trophy Tour.

Presented by Coca-Cola and Walmart, the trophy tour will roll into five cities across four regions in advance of the Oct. 11 Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The event brings fun, free-to-the-public, interactive racing excitement to Walmart locations in the Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro, N.C. and Greenville, S.C. regions.

“It’s great to be out here to help kick off the race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The track holds a lot of special memories for me, like when Darrell Waltrip won and blew up right when he crossed the finish line. Or my two wins there. It’s always produced great racing,” said Johnson. “Today, the key to winning at Charlotte is handling. I think Jimmie (Johnson) has the best shot to win the championship and Jeff (Gordon) has the second best chance. Jimmie’s the best driver out there today. He’s my bet to win the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte.”

Additional tour stops will feature appearances by NASCAR celebrities, Hall of Famers and Miss Sprint Cup; the Coca-Cola Racing show car and simulator; Charlotte Motor Speedway’s Fan Van and pace car; plus the opportunity for fans to take photos with the Bank of America 500 trophy and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Chase for the Championship trophy. Fans can also register to win tickets to the Bank of America 500 and sample delicious Coca-Cola products.

“Fans have been making the trip to Charlotte Motor Speedway for fun each fall for 55 years,” said Marcus Smith, president and general manager of Charlotte Motor Speedway. “With this trophy tour, we’re bringing the fun to the fans across the Carolinas as we roll toward a spectacular Bank of America 500 on Oct. 11. It’s time to crank it up with Coca-Cola and let’s go racing!”
