NASCAR Drivers Signing Autographs at Richmond

It’s the question we get asked the most: “How can I meet a driver?” Well, here’s how! Richmond International Raceway is offering up a chance to meet Chase Elliott, Regan Smith, Dylan Kwasniewski, and other NASCAR Nationwide Series drivers*. On Friday, September 5, fans who have tickets for the Virginia529 College Savings 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at RIR are invited to attend an autograph session with some of the sports up-and-coming stars.

Elliott, driver of the No. 9 NAPA AUTO PARTS Chevrolet, is a rookie on the rise. He already has three wins this season and is currently leading the points standings. Everyone’s favorite rising star has the whole family thing going for him, too. His father is “Awesome Bill from Dawsonville’s”, the guy who won the coveted Most Popular Driver Award (voted on by NASCAR fans) a record 16 times. Based on the lines at Elliott’s merchandise hauler every weekend, the young star is quickly building an allegiance of devoted NASCAR fans in the same light as his father.

Fans new on the NASCAR scene will want to be sure to meet Regan Smith, the JR motorsports driver who won the season opener at Daytona. Smith is currently second in the points standings and knocking on the door of his teammate, Elliott. Don’t forget Dylan Kwasniewski, another up-and-coming drive in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and a former NASCAR Next driver, who is known for his Rockstar sponsorship and appeal to the younger fans. And we’re sure other NNS drivers will be added to the list as the September race weekend approaches. Fans won’t want to miss their chance to get these stars’ autographs now so they can say they “knew them when”.

So here are the details. The autograph session will be held at 12:30 p.m. in the Amphitheater, located behind Turn 1 at RIR, and guests must have a wristband to participate. Wristbands will be available for pickup at the Virginia529 College Savings Plan Midway display starting at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 5, and will be distributed while supplies last. Fans who have wristbands may enter the Amphitheater at the Commonwealth Mall. Fans must have a Virginia529 College Savings 250 race ticket in order to receive a wristband and to access the autograph session. Don’t have a race ticket yet? No problem! Click here to get tickets.

Friday’s a great family-friendly option with tickets starting at $30 and children 12 and younger admitted free with a ticketed adult in general admission sections. And you know you’re going to have so much fun Friday that you’ll want to come back for Saturday night’s Federated Auto Parts 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event, the “One Last Race to Make The Chase.”  It’ll be one of the most intense and heated races of the season, with drivers battling for the final spots in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. Once the checkered flag flies, the field will be set for the 10-race championship grid. Tickets start at $35 and tickets for kids 12 and younger are $25 off the adult price in each section. We also offer tickets for children in the alcohol-free Family Section presented by Virginia529 College Savings Plan.
