Local Atlanta Party Band Yacht Rock Revue to highlight Pre Race Activities

Yacht Rock Revue will headline the Pre-Race Party on the front stretch at Atlanta Motor Speedway prior to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Aug. 31.

A Pre-Race Pit Pass will provide stage front access to the performance by Yacht Rock Revue along with the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver introductions.  In addition, pre-race pass holders will have the chance to view and photograph the 43 care starting field parked along the front stretch.  Access for pre-race pit pass holders will begin at 4 p.m.

A limited number of Sunday only pre-race pit passes are available for $100.  A weekend pre-race pit pass valid for Friday, Saturday and Sunday is only $125.  A grandstand or infield ticket is required for each pre-race pit pass holder.

Born out of the local Atlanta indie rock band Y-O-U, Yacht Rock Revue is a party band that performs 1970’s light rock hits while wearing polyester, aviators and captain’s hats that spurred the group to local stardom.

“We’ll play the tunes you’d almost forgotten about, yet somehow know all the words to. You won’t feel one bit guilty about it either,” said Yacht Rock Revue singer Nicholas Niespodziani. “I think every fan at that Speedway on Sunday will be there to get away from everyday life for a few hours, and our specialty is creating that vibe.”

Known as “the greatest show on surf and the finest tribute to ‘70’s light rock”, Yacht Rock Revue has been performing to rave reviews since the early 2000’s. The band will perform a rocking set that will begin at 5:30 p.m.
