Sonoma Raceway Offers New Food Options for 2014 Race Season

The Sonoma Valley and delicious food have always gone hand in hand, so Sonoma Raceway and Levy Restaurants have teamed up to extend that experience to its raceway guests during the 2014 race season.

Levy Restaurants, the official on-site caterer of Sonoma Raceway, will unveil two new permanent concession stands at the upcoming Toyota/Save Mart 350, as well as a number of new third-party vendors. Ranging from smoothies to sushi, there is sure to be something to fit every taste.

The new offerings for 2014 include:

  • Sears Point Taqueria: This new permanent location above Turn 2 features freshly-grilled meats, tacos on locally-made tortillas, taco bowls, a “Loco Quesadilla Wrap” and a fresh-made salsa bar.
  • Sonoma Farmstand: This new stand, located beneath the Main Grandstand, will feature the raceway’s own specially-roasted coffee bean espresso drinks, Artisan pastries, salads, fresh fruit and vegetable cups, and gluten-free items. Another featured item will be the Conewich, a bread cone filled with Caesar or Cobb salad.
  • Shiso Fresh: Hosted by Sonoma sushi chef Ed Matcalfe beneath the Main Grandstand, Shiso Fresh will offer Asian comfort food, including hoisin pulled pork Sandwiches, Korean-style sausages, teriyaki bowls and edamame.
  • Yogurt Time: This is the perfect option for race fans looking to cool off during hot race weekends. Refreshing soft-serve yogurt, slushy margaritas and slushy rum and Cokes are now available beneath the Main Grandstand.

The raceway will also unveil a new fan-friendly eating environment, located at the north end of the Main Grandstand. The new Grille Garden will feature picnic tables and 20-foot diameter umbrellas. Fans can cool off under the garden’s signature Coca-Cola Funbrellas while enjoying a bite to eat or a local craft beer.

In addition to these new options, the raceway will continue to offer fan favorites, including the Sears Point Grill in the main paddock and above Turn 9. The popular grill, which was unveiled last year, features handmade burgers, locally-sourced sausages and other savory grilled items.

Fans can also quench their thirst with a selection of six different Northern California craft beers and ales. Morris Distributing will have multiple draft locations, including a draft trailer above Turn 9, the TAPS bar at the north end of the main grandstand and various draft trailers throughout the main paddock. Featured breweries include  Bear Republic (Healdsburg), Lost Coast (Eureka), North Coast (Fort Bragg), Black Diamond (Concord), Sudwerk (Davis) and 101 North Brewing (Petaluma).
