SNMP Returns to Action With the Memorial Day 290

Racing returns to Southern National Motorsports Park this Saturday night, May 24, with the Memorial Day 290.  All active-duty and retired military will get in free (with valid ID) for this special event, featuring 100 laps from the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model Stocks.

Two weeks ago, two-time national champion Lee Pulliam swept the twin-75 lap event to take the SNMP point lead, while reigning NASCAR North Carolina state champion Deac McCaskill took a second and third place finish to move ahead of Tommy Lemons Jr., just 12 points behind Pulliam.

The evening will also feature twin-35 lap races for the Limited Late Models.  Andrew Grady comes into the evening with a 22 point advantage over Haley Moody, on the strength of four podium finishes in five events.

Also in action will be the full complement of SNMP divisions.  Chargers, Street Stocks, UCARs, Legends and Bandoleros will round out the 290 laps of racing.  Gates open at 2:00 PM, with the green flat set to fly at 7:00 PM.  Tickets are just $15 for adults, $12 for students 13-15, $6 for kids 6-12, while children 5 and under are free.  Veterans and active duty military will be admitted free of charge for Memorial Day.  For more information contact the track office at (919) 284-1114 or surf to www.snmpark.com.
