BMS adds new partner to popular August Wednesday night truck race

Bristol Motor Speedway officials today announced ZLOOP Computer and Electronics Recycling Centers as presenting sponsor of the popular mid-week NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event August 20 at BMS.

Based in Hickory, N.C., ZLOOP expands its presence in racing by joining The University of Northwestern Ohio on the Wednesday night main event of the NASCAR Modified/Truck Series double header at the Last Great Colosseum.

With the increasing reliance on technology, eWaste is an important issue. Through strategic marketing like the new partnership with Bristol Motor Speedway, ZLOOP officials find ways to inform consumers how to recycle their computers, printers, electronic devices, phones and phone systems.

“Motorsports continues to be the platform of choice as ZLOOP works to educate race fans as to the dangers of improperly disposing of outmoded, unwanted or broken electronics,” said ZLOOP Founder, President and CMO Bob LaBarge. “Our education program, eWaste is Serious Waste, Recycle®, is used on and off the track and we are pleased to announce our partnership with Bristol Motor Speedway.”

Bristol Motor Speedway Executive Vice President and General Manager Jerry Caldwell said while ZLOOP uses racing to advance awareness, adding the company as a partner expands the strategy for BMS as well.

“We have implemented several green initiatives in recent years,” Caldwell said. “The addition of ZLOOP continues that program and fits the mold as well. Only 10 percent of the estimated 240 million tons of eWaste is recycled each year and we want raise that number.

“Our friends at UNOH educate through a unique program. We entertain our fans at a unique facility. ZLOOP tackles an increasing challenge through a unique perspective. We are glad to have them on board.”

Now in their sixth year as part of the Wednesday night lineup, officials from UNOH reiterated Caldwell’s sentiment.

“We are very pleased to have ZLOOP as our presenting sponsor for the UNOH 200,” said Steve Farmer, UNOH’s Vice President of Corporate Development. “They have a passion for the sport and along with their Green Electronic Recycling program to properly dispose of used electronics safely, what better company to partner with at the Last Great Colosseum with thousands of race fans to share their story with on race weekend.”
