Celebrate 517 Day with a special ticket offer to the Quicken Loans 400

Michigan International Speedway is celebrating “517 Day” with a special ticket offer.

On May 17, NASCAR’s fastest track is inviting everybody to the 517 for the Quicken Loans 400 with a ticket deal to celebrate.

In honor of our location in the 517, we have a special ticket offer for you. Help us celebrate on May 17 with tickets to the Quicken Loans 400 for $57.

Fans who purchase tickets on May 17 will receive an $11 savings in select locations to the Quicken Loans 400 on June 15. You can buy tickets for only $57 in sections 43-57 for rows 11-40.

“What better day to celebrate the 517 and all of our neighbors and friends in the Irish Hills than with a special ticket offer to join us for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Quicken Loans 400 on June 15,” MIS President Roger Curtis said.  “Whether you’ve been coming to MIS for years or this is your first visit to MIS, we are proud to be in the 517.  We consider MIS to be your ‘hometown team’ and greatly appreciate everyone’s support.  The NASCAR races have really become a week-long festival in the Irish Hills and we hope everyone here has a great time this year.”

The price has been reset to renewal prices for one day only.

Fans can order tickets online at http://bit.ly/1luXo4K or by phone at 800-354-1010. You can call the ticket office anytime between 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. on Saturday.

NASCAR has taken significant steps toward improving on-track competition for events, releasing new aerodynamic regulations for its flagship Sprint Car Series GEN-6 race cars during the off-season. NASCAR wants to make it easier for cars to pass each other and reduce the aerodynamic advantage the leading car has over the car behind it.

These changes have been apparent this season in producing some exciting NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racing. There have been nine different winners in the first 11 races in 2014.

The speeds are expected to remain fast at MIS again in 2014. After a two-day Goodyear tire test in May, the results proved the blazing speeds were sure to continue.

Last year, Joey Logano posted a track qualifying mark of 203.949 mph for the Pure Michigan 400. The speed was ninth-fastest pole-winning speed in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series history and the fastest pole-winning speed other than Talladega Superspeedway and Daytona International Speedway. Greg Biffle pulled into victory lane for the Quicken Loans 400 while Logano took the checkered flag for the Pure Michigan 400 in 2013.
