Late Model Stocks Return to Action Saturday at SNMP

It will have been almost a month since the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model Stocks have graced the high banks of Southern National Motorsports Park, but that will change this Saturday at the Mom’s the Bomb 320.

At the last SNMP-hosted Dirty Dozen event on April 12, two-time NWAAS National Champion Lee Pulliam dominated one half of the twin-race event, while David Garbo Jr. took the second half, holding off a late charge by Pulliam.  Track champion Deac McCaskill scored second and fourth place finishes, respectively, while 2014 point leader Tommy Lemons Jr. failed to find the podium for the first time this season.

Lemons will enter the evening’s twin-75 lap event as the SNMP point leader, just 14 points ahead of Pulliam and 20 ahead of McCaskill.  Lemons also sits in third place in NASCAR Whelen All-American Series national points, only 13 points ahead of Pulliam.

Making special appearances at Saturday’s event will be the Carolina Mudcats’ own Muddy the Mudcat, as well as Bobby Brantley from truTV’s “Lizard Lick Towing” and Bobby’s Backyard Bash (to be hosted at SNMP May 17).

Also included in Saturday’s action-packed race night will be Limited Late Models, where Andrew Grady holds a mere six point advantage over first-time winner Alex Fleming.  Chargers, Street Stocks, UCARs, Legends and Bandoleros will also take to the challenging 4/10 mile track as well.
