Fuel to perform prior to Advocare 500 at Phoenix

The popular rock band Fuel will perform live at Phoenix International Raceway, prior to the AdvoCare 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Race on Sunday, Nov. 10, PIR President Bryan R. Sperber announced today. The performance is the result of a partnership between PIR and Niner Sports and Entertainment.

Fuel will perform on the Budweiser ROLL-BAR Stage behind the Bobby Allison Grandstands from 11-11:45 a.m. local time Sunday, Nov. 10.  All fans with grandstand tickets will be able to enjoy the concert as part of their race day experience at no additional cost.

“We are thrilled to have a great band like Fuel perform before the AdvoCare 500 next month,” Sperber said.  “They have been one of the most popular musical groups in America for over a decade, and their performance will really help set the tone for a day of energy and excitement on the track.”

The multi-platinum group has released four albums since 1998, including their debut album entitled Sunburn, which sold more than 1 million copies to achieve platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America.  Fuel’s second album, Something Like Human, reached double platinum status thanks in part to the chart-topping single “Hemorrhage (In My Hands)” which remained atop Billboard’s alternative music chart for 12 weeks.

Following the release of Something Like Human, Fuel spent three years on tour, selling out shows around the world.  In 2003, the band returned to the studio and released its third album, Natural Selection, which featured the hit single “Falls On Me.”
