Unique “Speed Trap Zone” to Debut at Auto Club Speedway

Crave more trackside hospitality with a twist?  Welcome the new Speed Trap Zoneto Auto Club Speedway.

On the heels of the unveiling of last year’s Fuzzy’s Pit Box Lounge – which includes the industry’s first and only Victory Lane Bar Slide – Speedway officials announced the creation of the Speed Trap Zone, a one-of-a-kind hospitality area in Turn 1 which will consist of upgraded RV parking and fan amenities including a digital screen, visible from every grandstand seat, which will track drivers speed on the fastest part of the track.

The hospitality area, which comes in response to the growing demand from motorsports fans and corporate customers for trackside hospitality “with a view”, will be ready in time for NASCAR’s Auto Club 400 Weekend, March 2014.

“Five-wide and fast speeds – that’s what fans expect to see at Auto Club Speedway,” said Speedway President Gillian Zucker.  “Now, in the Speed Trap Zone, fans will be able to crow about how fast their favorite driver is going, or how slow their friend’s driver is.”

With radar equipment in place, speeds of NASCAR’s and INDYCAR’s finest entering Turn 1 – the fastest part of the 2-mile venue – will be tracked and displayed on the screen.

Other services and amenities are in the works as Auto Club Speedway continues to stay ahead of the curve in providing a unique race weekend experience for its fans.
