Charlotte Motor Speedway Offers Anonymous PowerBall Winner VIP Trip to Bank of America 500

The nation’s newest multi-millionaire just got one more big reason to come forward after winning the fourth largest payout in the history of the PowerBall jackpot, and it’s not the big check worth nearly $400 million. Charlotte Motor Speedway President and General Manager Marcus Smith is offering the anonymous winner the ultimate race day experience when NASCAR returns to the legendary 1.5-mile superspeedway for the Bank of America 500 on Oct. 12.

Among other perks, the winning ticket holder will be named Honorary Race Official for the only Saturday night race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship. He or she would also be invited to ride in the official pace car, attend the drivers’ meeting, and then watch the race from the president’s suite.

“What better stage to step into the spotlight than under the bright lights of NASCAR’s Bank of America 500 at Charlotte,” Smith said. “With a night of action that includes a death-defying skywalk by world-famous daredevil Nik Wallenda, a concert by the Goo Goo Dolls and what could be a momentum changing playoff race on the track, it could just keep getting better for the lottery winner. I’m sure a few drivers would like to have a little of the Powerball winner’s luck rub off on them before the race as well.”

Powerball officials know the winning ticket was purchased at a gas station in Lexington, S.C., just hours before the winning numbers were drawn Wednesday, but no one has come forward to claim the prize. The winning numbers were 7-10-22-32-35 with the Powerball number 19. If the winner elects to cash out in a lump sum, he/she would receive about $223 million. As an annuity, the winnings would amount to about $13 million annually for the next 29 years.

By law, lottery winners in South Carolina, unlike many other states, can remain anonymous. But to cash in on the Bank of America 500 Powerball Prize Pack, the winner will have to come forward with the winning ticket.
