A&M/Octone Records’ new country music duo Miss Willie Brown will sing the National Anthem prior to the start of the “FedEx 400 benefiting Autism Speaks” NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday, May 15 at Dover International Speedway.
The duo, comprised of Amanda Watkins from West Virginia and Texas native Kasey Buckley, first met waiting tables at a BBQ joint, and instantly bonded over a deep love of songwriting and country music. With raw, honky-tonk-style emotion and irresistible rock ‘n’ roll swagger, the duo is both a reminder of the classic power of a song and a fresh look toward music’s future. In a unique dynamic, Kasey and Amanda not only share writing credits on each song, but unlike most lead-and-harmony groups, the two split lead vocals. Sharing that duty, especially onstage, ignites an electric energy that likens their live show to a hurricane meeting a volcano.
Miss Willie Brown released their first major label EP in March, produced by award-winning producer Keith Stegall (Zac Brown Band, Alan Jackson and George Strait), and will wrap up the 30-city JAGERMEISTER COUNTRY TOUR with Dierks Bentley on May 13 in Norfolk, Va.
In addition to performing the “Star Spangled Banner,” Miss Willie Brown is scheduled to entertain race fans with one of their original songs during pre-race activities.
