‘Championship Taste’ Savors South Florida’s Best

Before NASCAR crownsits three national series champions in South Florida, The NASCAR Foundation will host a fundraising event that is as delicious as it is altruistic.

Celebrity chef Adrianne Calvo and Oscar Award-winning producer Jon Landau welcome Miami-area restaurants and NASCAR fans to Championship Taste, taking place at Homestead-Miami Speedway at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14. Proceeds for this savory event will benefit The NASCAR Foundation’s Speediatrics unit at Homestead Hospital.

Two days before the Ford Championship Weekend commences, Championship Taste guests will sample fares from a variety of South Florida restaurants at the track’s Chalet Village. Landau will be on site and serve as the evening’s celebrity host to kick off the event. The evening’s activities will include a check presentation by The NASCAR Foundation for its annual donation to the local Speediatrics unit.

Tickets are on sale now at NASCAR.COM/Unites or by calling (704) 348-9685 and options include:

  •  VIP admission ($100) guarantees early entry to the event, two complimentary drink tickets, five door prize tickets, access to VIP Chalet with Landau and Calvo and free parking.
  •  General admission ($50) includes entry to the event, two door prize tickets and free parking.

“I’m honored to serve as the Celebrity Chef for this inaugural event,” said Chef Adrianne Calvo, who prides herself on creating and serving her signature “Maximum Flavor” dishes. “What I’m even more proud of is the impact this event will have on the local community by helping to provide funds for medical care at The NASCAR Foundation’s Speediatrics unit at Homestead Hospital.”

Calvo’s award-winning restaurant – Chef Adrianne’s Vineyard Restaurant and Wine Bar – will be featured in one of the event’s VIP Chalets and will headline the list of local participating restaurants, which will include Americrown, Smoke & Spice, Thierry’s Catering and Event Design, Shakey’s Pizza Parlor, El Toro Taco, Chefs on the Run, Key Largo Conch House, Le Monde des Crepes, Churromania, Cookies By Design, Captain’s Restaurant and Seafood and Homestead Hospital Carambola Café.

“Homestead-Miami Speedway is looking forward to hosting this great event during Ford Championship Weekend,” said Homestead-Miami Speedway President Matthew Becherer. “NASCAR’s Championship Taste will have a positive impact on children at our local Speediatrics unit at Homestead Hospital and we’re honored to team-up with our partners at the hospital and NASCAR for this event.”
