EcoBoost Campaign Involving Ford Motorsport Vehicles Around the World Highlights 2012 Season

While winning races and championships is the yearly goal at Ford Racing, another major point of emphasis this season was “boosting” the visibility of EcoBoost, Ford’s latest engine technology for its global production vehicles.

As a result, teams from the Ford motorsport program around the world competed at different points in the season with a special white, black and blue EcoBoost livery.

Drivers and teams from the World Rally Championship, National Hot Rod Association, NASCAR, China Touring Car Championship, Best in the Desert Racing Association, Australian V8 Supercar Championship Series, Rally America, Grand-Am Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge, and Formula Ford Series were all represented.

Some of the drivers who carried the EcoBoost colors included Jari-Matti Latvala and Petter Solberg (WRC), Matt Kenseth, Carl Edwards and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (NASCAR), Bob Tasca III (NHRA), Rainey He and Fan Gaoxiang (CTCC) and Steve LaRoza (BITD).

Ford research taken since the beginning of the motorsport initiative clearly shows that race fans have a higher familiarity and more favorable opinion of Ford EcoBoost than the general market population.

“Ford’s heritage in global motorsport has served as the ideal platform to promote Ford EcoBoost to enthusiasts globally,” said Jamie Allison, director, Ford Racing.  “We have seen an increase in awareness of EcoBoost among race fans and given the expanded availability of Ford EcoBoost in our line-up globally, this was an effective outreach of our exciting technology.”
