Ryan Rackley Earns First Stock Car Victory

Ryan Rackley had been close to his first victory in a full sized stock car all year, but on Saturday at Hickory Motor Speedway he broke through in a big way.

Rackley started from the pole in Saturday’s 35-lap Southeast Limited Late Model Series Pro division race and proceeded to put on a clinic, leading every lap in the all-green feature to capture his first victory for Lee Faulk Racing and Development.

“What a night, I can’t believe we finally put it all together,” said Rackley after his first victory in a stock car. “David and the guys at Lee Faulk Racing and Development brought me a great race car and Michael Faulk spotted a perfect race for me. We’ve been close all season, so to get the monkey off our backs is really gratifying.”

David Reutimann, a two-time winner in the NASCAR Cup Series during his driving career, had nothing but positive things to say about the 14-year-old’s efforts on Saturday night at the historic Hickory oval.

“Ryan did a great job tonight. He’s been close all year, so I’m really glad he was able to put all the pieces together to put our No. 1 in victory lane,” Reutimann said. “I think it’ll be the first of many victories for Ryan and the LFR team.”

Rackley, a graduate of karting and Legends car competition, believes Saturday’s victory at Hickory is a sign of bigger things to come.

“I knew we could do this, it was just a matter of time. Now that we got the first one hopefully the second one will be right around the corner,” Rackley said. “Thanks to David, Lee and Michael Faulk and all the guys at LFR for helping me get here. Also thanks to my parents, my family and friends, the folks from MPM Marketing and everyone else that has made this possible.”
