Tricky weekend for Solaris Motorsport at Hockenheim

Solaris Motorsport had a tough weekend in Germany. On the historic Hockenheimring, that hosted the SemiFinals of the 2019 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series Playoffs, the Italian team reacted to difficult qualifying session with two solid races for Francesco Sini in the ELITE 1 Division and an huge comeback by Naveh Talor during the Sunday ELITE 2 manche.

“The weekend started in a bad way, we suffered some setup issue and on the car, all this slowed us in qualifying. With 23 cars in less than two second, each tenth means several positions, and so we started only on the 10th row. The race went better, we made some changes and thanks to a smart race, we finished twice so close to the Top10. It is not a great result, but if we think we have 30 cars and so many good drivers on the grid, it’s not so bad.” Commented Francesco Sini, that is aiming to the Top10 in final ELITE 1 standing. “I hope to have a better weekend in Belgium, I want to end the season with a good result to thank the whole team!”

“This weekend was very difficult. We started out with a not perfect setup, the Solaris Motorsport guys were incredible, they worked so hard but the qualifying went bad and we were forced to start from the rear of the field. I was really disappointed because I really wanted to get my first SuperPole, my speed has improved massively in the past couple of races. Race 1 started off good until the safety car came out and reorder the field sending me to the back again. I was hit two times at the restart and I was forced to retire. An huge disappointment, because it is the third retire in three races. And never for our fault.“ said Naveh Talor, that has took his revenge in Race 2 with a great performance from P21 to P11. “We started from the back due the retire, I had a good start and managed to pass a couple of cars. I got lucky with some cars crashing in front of me and had great pace to pass other cars that are in the top positions of the championship. Ended up being a wonderful comeback drive, something for the team to be happy about. And now I can’t wait for Zolder!”

All the show of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series is ready for the great final on the iconic track of Zolder, in Belgium, ready to start in less than 10 days.
