Dave Blaney Posts Eldora Speedway Win with Super DIRTCar Series

In only his second start in a big block modified this season, Dave Blaney pulled off a dominant victory at Eldora Speedway on Thursday, August 1st in the Heinke-Baldwin Racing #10H sponsored by Mohawk Northeast and the Ryan Blaney Foundation.

Blaney lead all 20 laps of the Super DIRTCar Series All-Star Invitational after jumping to the lead over his HBR teammate Jimmy Phelps on the opening lap. The #10H was put to the test on two restarts but prevailed over Phelps by two seconds at the line.

“It’s cool to win anytime here,” Blaney said in victory lane. “We had some days way back in the 90s here in the sprint car and it’s fun to come race here in a big block modified. It’s great to race in front of all of you fans and especially to win one.”

The win was Blaney’s first in a big block modified at the half-mile circuit. Blaney has numerous victories at Eldora Speedway in a 410 sprint car, including two King’s Royal titles.

Blaney has also posted two victories this season in his 98H sprint car, both at Sharon Speedway on Saturday, July 27th and Saturday, June 28th.

“It’s always fun changing things up and stepping back into a modified when I can,” Blaney said. “The HBR guys gave me a great car and I’m really appreciative of their hard work. It’s a good feeling to put it in victory lane for them.”

The Buckeye Bullet will now resume his sprint car schedule, which includes numerous World of Outlaws and All Star Sprint Circuit of Champions events over the next few months.
