BMR Drivers To Battle In K&N East At New Hampshire

The NASCAR K&N Pro Series East returns to action this week with the United Site Services 70 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday.

Derek Kraus, driver of the Bill McAnally Racing No. 16 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota Camry, looks to continue the success he experienced last year at the track known as the Magic Mile.

In addition to winning the pole in both K&N East events there in 2018, he took fifth in this event a year ago and finished in the runner-up spot in a second series visit in September.

The 17-year-old NASCAR Next driver from Stratford, Wisconsin leads the championship standings and he knows another strong run at NHMS could help him build on his slim two-point advantage. Kraus has two wins, three top-five and five top-10 finishes in five series starts this season.

In addition to leading the K&N East standings, he also leads the championship chase in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West.

Among the competition Kraus faces at New Hampshire are his BMR teammates – Hailie Deegan in the No. 19 Monster Energy/NAPA Power Premium Plus Toyota Camry and series rookie Brittney Zamora in the No. 99 NAPA Filters/ENEOS Toyota Camry. Deegan and Zamora are running the full schedule this year in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, while also racing in select events in the K&N East.

A fourth BMR entry at New Hampshire will be Lawless Alan in the No. 50 AUTOParkit Toyota Camry. Alan, a 19-year-old from Southern California, made his debut in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series last month at Sonoma Raceway. His strong run on the California road course ended, however, when contact from another car in the closing laps sent him into a tire barrier.

Deegan, who turns 18 this week, is 10th in the K&N East standings, with four starts this season. The NASCAR Next driver from Temecula, California finished 15th last year in her only career series start at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Zamora – a 20-year-old from Kennewick, Washington – has one top-10 finish in three K&N East starts this year. This will be her first time at NHMS in a K&N East race.

Kraus, Deegan and Zamora are coming off a strong performance in K&N West action in late June at Douglas County Speedway in Roseburg, Oregon – where Kraus took the win, Deegan finished third, and Zamora was fifth.

Kraus and Deegan are 1-2 in the K&N West championship standings – with Kraus holding just an eight-point advantage over his teammate. Zamora is sixth in those standings.

The New Hampshire race will air live on FansChoice.TV – the streaming digital platform that’s airing the entire NASCAR regional series schedule live this year. In addition, it is to be televised on NBCSN on July 29 at 6 p.m. ET.

The race is part of a big NASCAR weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway that also features the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and the NASCAR XFINITY Series.

The speedway has been a traditional stop on the K&N East circuit since 1990. It has hosted 73 series events, more than any other track. Race winners in series competition there include Joey Logano, Martin Truex Jr., Kyle Larson, William Byron, Cole Custer, and Todd Gilliland.
