Weather Clears for ARCA Menards Series Practice at WWT Raceway; Michael Self Takes Pole for Day to Day Coffee 150

After morning storms delayed practice and forced ARCA Menards Series officials to cancel General Tire Pole Qualifying, the weather in metro St. Louis finally cleared and allowed ARCA teams to get on the track for an hour of practice for tonight’s Day to Day Coffee 150 at World Wide Technology Raceway. Series championship leader Michael Self (No. 25 Sinclair Lubricants Toyota) led the incident-free session with a lap of 33.105 seconds/135.931 miles per hour and per the ARCA Menards Series rule book will start from the General Tire Pole for tonight’s race.

Self’s Venturini Motorsports teammate Christian Eckes (No. 15 JBL Audio Toyota) was second fastest in practice and will start alongside on the front row. Eckes’s fast lap was 33.125 seconds/135.849 miles per hour. Sixteen-year-old Corey Heim (No. 22 Speedway Children’s Charities Ford) timed in third fastest in practice at 33.406 seconds/134.706 miles per hour. Chandler Smith (No. 20 Craftsman/828 Logistics Toyota) was fourth, also at 33.406 seconds/134.706 miles per hour, and Bret Holmes (No. 23 Holmes II Excavation Chevrolet) rounded out the top five with a lap at 33.531 seconds/134.204 miles per hour.

Sam Mayer (No. 21 Chevy Accessories Chevrolet), Tanner Gray (No. 54 Gray Motorsports/Valvoline/Durst, Inc. Toyota), Ty Gibbs (No. 18 Monster Energy/ORCA Coolers/Terrible Herbst/Advance Auto Parts Toyota), Drew Dollar (No. 4 Lynx Capital Funds/Dollar Concrete Construction Toyota), and Travis Braden (No. 27 MatrixCare/Consonus Health Care/Liberty Village Ford) rounded out the top ten in practice and will round out the top ten starters in the race.
