Roa Finishes 6th and Extends Point Lead – Back to Arizona Saturday

Garden Grove, California racing veteran Brody Roa raced to a sixth-place finish when the USAC Southwest Sprint Car Series visited the Arizona Speedway last Saturday night. The finish allowed him to extend his lead to 29-points in the series standings.  He will attempt to add to that total this Saturday, April 27th, when the series stops at Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Arizona.

A field of 17 cars showed up for the “Lealand McSpadden Classic on the Queen Creek, Arizona 1/3 of a mile oval last Saturday.  Roa, 28, ended up being the second fastest in qualifying with a time of 14.766.  He placed third in his heat race and started inside the third row in the 30-lap main event.  When the checkered ended the race, Roa claimed the sixth-place finishing spot. In eight sprint car starts this year, it was the first time he finished farther back than fourth.

This Saturday, April 27th, the Brody Roa Performance team will journey back across the desert to compete in the “State Classic 48” at Canyon Speedway Park.  It will be the third time Roa has raced at Canyon in 2019.  In early March, he contested two nights of racing there that were co-sanctioned by USAC/CRA and the USAC Southwest Series. In those two races, he claimed the hardware for a second and a third-place finish.
