ARCA Teams Arriving Early for Saturday’s ARCA Pensacola 200

A blast of artic air in the Carolina’s was the perfect excuse for ARCA Teams to head to Pensacola a little early to soak up some sun and sand before Saturday night’s ARCA Pensacola 200 presented by Inspectra Thermal Solutions.
The teams don’t have any at track responsibilities until technical inspection day on Friday followed by “Friday Night Fire”, a fan free event in the Campground/Parking Area.
A giant bon fire will be lit at 6:00 PM, with ARCA drivers on hand to sign autographs with entertainment from Chip Nelson with 96.1 the Rocket until 8:00 followed by Jeff Ivanoff of The Rowdies for the late night crowd camping at the Speedway.
A stout field of ARCA competitors have been testing in the weeks leading up to Saturday night.
2016 Snowball Derby Champion, Christian Eckes has as much experience as anyone headed in to Saturday night but there are a host of competitors looking to keep Eckes major wins at 5 Flags to one.
Alabama’s Bret Holmes is a former 5 Flags Champion and has three years of ARCA racing under his belt plus a new crew chief that has his team brimming with confidence.
Speaking of confidence, how much more swagger do you need than beating Kyle Busch earlier this year like Connor Okrzesik did at Speedfest? The 17 year old from Mobile has high hopes for his first career ARCA start this weekend.
At 17 Connor Okrzesik isn’t the youngest competitor that has a shot at the title, how about 16 year old Ty Gibbs? Gibbs is the Grandson of Joe Gibbs and his Joe Gibbs team has been to Pensacola testing for this weekend, twice!
Talking about age brings us to ARCA veteran Brad Smith. At 50 years young, Smith is the only competitor that competed in the 1996 Pensacola ARCA Race that will be in the field this weekend. The ARCA Pensacola 200 will be Smiths 330 ARCA start.
The field of ARCA drivers headed to Pensacola for Saturday nights race is one of the most diverse in the history of the Series.
The ARCA Menards Series will return to Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida on Saturday, March 9th.
