NASCAR K&N West Makes Annual Visit To Roseburg

The NASCAR K&N Pro Series West visits Douglas County Speedway on Saturday for the Clint Newell Toyota 150 presented by NAPA AUTO PARTS.

Bill McAnally Racing dominated the competition last year, finishing 1-2-3 in the annual event on the 3/8-mile track at the fairgrounds in Roseburg, Oregon.

The sparks were flying as Todd Gilliland and Chris Eggleston waged a fierce side-by-side battle that thrilled the fans that packed the venue. Their rookie teammate, Derek Kraus, followed the pair across the finish line in third.

Gilliland and Eggleston graduated to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series this year. Kraus, who now drives the No. 16 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota Camry, has been joined at BMR by Cole Rouse in the No. 99 NAPA Filters Toyota Camry and Hailie Deegan in the No. 19 Mobil 1/NAPA Power Premium Plus Toyota Camry.

Kraus is third in the championship standings. The 16-year-old from Stratford, Wisconsin has one win, four top-five, and five top-10 finishes in six races this season. He is coming off a 10th-place finish in the road course event at Sonoma Raceway in California.

Rouse, who finished 12th at Roseburg as a rookie in 2016, is close behind in the standings in fourth. He has three top-five, and five top-10 finishes – as well as a 12th-place finish at Sonoma. Rouse, 20, hails from Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Deegan – a 16-year-old series rookie from Temecula, California – leads the rookie points and is fifth in the overall standings. She has two top-five and six top-10 finishes – including a seventh-place finish at Sonoma.

Kraus and Deegan are members of the NASCAR Next program that spotlights NASCAR’s emerging stars.

The BMR team will be involved in a variety of activities leading up to Saturday’s race. The No. 16 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota Camry is to be displayed at the Clint Newell Auto Group dealership in Roseburg. An appearance is also slated at the NAPA AUTO PARTS Store in nearby Winston. In addition, BMR’s 2-seater No. 16 NAPA Toyota will be turning laps at Douglas County Speedway, providing rides to selected guests.

A NAPA customer kickoff dinner is planned the night before the race, and NAPA guests will be hosted at a VIP Hospitality at the track on Saturday.

The Roseburg event marks the halfway point of the season, as the seventh of a 14-race schedule. It’s scheduled to be televised on NBCSN on July 6 at 10 a.m. PT.
