Improved pace for Solaris Motorsport at NASCAR GP of Italy

Solaris Motorsport has shown a solid step forward in performance at NASCAR GP of Italy, held for the second time at Autodromo di Franciacorta. The #12 was able to enter constantly in the Top10 of the huge NASCAR Whelen Euro Series grid and set the best time during the Free Practice. With 32 cars on track, Francesco Sini showed an interesting race pace and the determination of the good days, only the bad luck took away two good results to the Pescara native driver.

“We did a good step forward and the best time at the end of the Free Practice is a positive signal of a good job. We were able to enter the Superpole in the qualifying session and in Race 2, without the contact in the last lap, we could have brought home easily the eighth place. It’s not yet what we are working for, but in a so competitive contest and at the beginning of a new challenge is a good result. For sure, our main goal remains to catch the podium.” commented Francesco Sini, forced to stop in the Round 3 due a technical failure but protagonist of a 25 laps great battle with Christophe Bouchut on Sunday race. “We suffered again some reliability issue but despite this we had a good pace, we fought for good positions and, without the crash at last lap, I could have brought home a good result to thank my team and my guys for their big efforts. We’ll try again at Brands Hatch, I never raced there and so I don’t know the track, but we can have a nice weekend if we keep working in this direction.”

“Step by step we are closing the gap with the best drivers and teams. We are not yet at 100% but compared to Valencia’s weekend the results have improved significantly. We have to work to fix something on car and the setup but I think we are working in the right way. NASCAR Whelen Euro Series is a so competitive championship and with 32 cars on the grid each mistake means lots of positions. The races are very tight and manly, you need to be at 100% to have a chance to be on top.” commented Roberto Sini, Solaris Motorsport Team Principal. “I want to thank all our supporters for their warmth, they are our fuel! This Euro NASCAR is all about American cars and people everywhere on the grandstands and in the paddock, our mind goes back to the good days of the Superstars. By the way, we have a great surprise for Brands Hatch!”

To know what Solaris Motorsport is preparing for all its supporters we will have to wait only three weeks, when the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series will land in UK for the sixth edition of the American SpeedFest, the American themed fest able to bring on track more than 40 thousands fans ready to enjoy all the action inside and outside the Brands Hatch circuit.
